Important COVID-19 Update From the Town of Jupiter

Jupiter, FL - April 29, 2020 - Today, Palm Beach County Executive Order 2020-005 went into effect. This order allows for a re-opening of some recreational facilities, provided rules and restrictions are followed, and CDC guidelines for social distancing are followed. Restrictions and conditions for reopening beaches are being coordinated between Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties. For now, all beaches remain closed.

  • Parks and natural areas will re-open for walking, running and biking, equestrian riding, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and use of lakes while practicing social distancing. Basketball courts are for individual practice only. Picnic pavilions and playgrounds remain closed. Town of Jupiter parks and natural areas that will re-open 8am-7pm include:
    • Abacoa Community Park
    • Jupiter Community Park
    • Jupiter Village Park
    • Lighthouse Park
    • Maplewood Park (no restrooms)
    • North Palm Beach Heights Park
    • Sawfish Bay Park
    • Town of Jupiter natural areas with walking paths and public amenities
    • Parks that remain closed include Cinquez Park, Indian Creek Park, Daily Park, Ofc. Bruce St. Laurent Park, Eastview Manor Park, FIND Park, Indian Creek Park, Old Town Hall Park, Jupiter Skate Park.

  • Recreational and commercial boating may resume following capacity restrictions based on size of the boat. Beaching, landings, anchoring or mooring of vessels on sandbars, islands and open shorelines is prohibited. Fish cleaning/bait stations are limited to one person at a time, and only one passenger per rented personal watercraft. Recreational charter boats, drift fishing and dive boats, marinas, boat docks, boat ramps and other launching venues are allowed to operate in adherence with CDC and specific county guidelines. Boat capacity restrictions are as follows:
    • 25-foot or less: maximum 6 persons (4 adult passengers plus 2 children 17 & under)
    • 26- to 36-foot: maximum 8 persons (6 adult passengers plus 2 children 17 & under)
    • 37- to 60-foot: maximum 10 persons (8 adult passengers plus 2 children 17 & under)
    • 60-foot and larger: maximum 10 passengers plus crew
  • Golf courses are permitted to open with restrictions, such as limiting play to walking and single-rider golf carts only, closing locker rooms except for restroom use, and allowing warm-ups on driving ranges. Congregating after play is not permitted. Private courses may make individual decisions on whether to open or to remain closed.
  • Limited play at outdoor tennis and racquet sports facilities will be allowed, as well as limited use of public and privately owned community pools.
