Oceana Coffee gives away $500 to a local charity! Again!

Tequesta, FLORIDA – November 22, 2019 – Recently Oceana Coffee announced the latest winner of their Cup of Kindness program, Hannah’s Home of South Florida, and awarded them with $500.

In 2018 Oceana Coffee created “A Cup of Kindness”, since then they have donated over $2000 to local charities. Through this local charity initiative, Oceana Coffee chooses 3 charities per quarter to highlight at their local retail stores and to their online customers. Over the course of 3 months, customers have the opportunity to vote for one of the three showcased charities every time they make a purchase. Customers making in-store purchases vote for their charity of choice by dropping a coffee bean into a glass jar labeled with the charity’s logo. At the end of the quarter, all of the beans are weighed at Oceana Coffee’s check presentation event and the lucky charity with the most bean votes wins the grand prize, $500.

On Friday, October 25 that 6:00 p.m., Oceana Coffee hosted their quarterly check presentation, where Hannah’s Home of South Florida was awarded the overall prize of $500 for having the most beans in their jar.

There was live music, by Katrina DiMare, and raffle items provided by Oceana Coffee, Tequesta Brewing Company, and Food Shack. Over $300 was raised with the raffle. 100% of the proceeds from the raffle tickets sold at the event were given directly to the charity with the most attendees at the event. Wahine Warriors was the recipient of this cash donation for this round. (Past raffle prizes have graciously been donated by Oceana Coffee, Food Shack, Tequesta Brewing company, and Josco bar and oven, to name a few.)

During each check presentation, Oceana Coffee announces the next round of charity partners and gives them the chance to speak about their local mission. The next round of charities includes; Operation Care for Heroes, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, and The Pet Cottage of Jupiter.

Past winners include; Els Center for Autism, Jupiter, Fl. , Furry Friends of Jupiter, Fl., and Kayla Cares for Kids of Jupiter, Fl. (pictured above, Hannah’s Home of South Florida residents, Amy Angelo-Oceana Coffee)
