Spring Into Gin Cocktails

JUPITER, FL – March 2, 2021 – Gray Whale Gin is a California-made, consciously crafted spirit, that has recently expanded distribution to Florida. The InFlorida team were thrilled to try this ocean inspired gin and add it to some delicious spring cocktails for our readers to try.

Gray Whale Gin was founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife team, Marsh and Jan Mohktari while they were on a family camping trip in Big Sur. The gin is inspired by the migratory path of the Pacific Gray Whale. The gin’s botanicals are all organically farmed, or hand harvested along the gray whale’s 12,000-mile journey from Baja California to Mendocino.

The sense of the living by the sea is presented in a bright blue bottle making it the perfect addition to any Floridian’s summer bar cart.

In addition to its scrumptious flavors the proceeds from each bottle of Gray Whale Gin benefit ocean conservation, to protect the home of the majestic gray whale.

Tasting notes: On first sip, juniper coats the pallet with a distinct follow-up taste of almonds. There is a discrete taste of the sea which probably comes from the kombu #an edible kelp.

The nose: Fresh limes and the aroma of lemons are wrapped in juniper, which gives the aroma its fir tree scent. The last fragrance is mint, which adds a fresh sea breeze of excitement to the nose.

PRICE: Gray Whale Gin retails for $40 and is available at select retailers across Florida including Total Wine & More, as well as, via Reserve Bar, Caskers and Drizzly.

The InFlorida team enjoyed this gin with a simple tonic water and a slice of lime to emphasize the lime notes in the gin. We also recommend sipping on the following easy sea breezy cocktails when lounging by the pool or at the beach:
