Reggae Triple Header: The Movement, New Kingston and Resinated

JUPITER, FL – November 14, 2017 – Two touring reggae heavyweights (The Movement and New Kingston) and one Florida-grown outfit – Resinated – will come together and play The Kelsey Theater (700 Park Ave, Lake Park, FL 33403) on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in an all-ages show presented by Jupiter label and promotions house Root Music, Inc. Doors open at 7 p.m. and $15 pre-sale tickets are on sale now at tickets.holdmyticket.com/tickets/287519.

“The Kelsey is the perfect showcase for a night of island-influenced music such as this,” says Roots Music head Matt Cahur. “These three groups are top notch, and high-energy, and will be a treat for fans of roots, reggae and dancehall.” Cahur has been booking, managing, and promoting reggae acts, shows and festivals through Roots Music for nearly two decades. He’s also the talent buyer and lead sound engineer for Guanabanas Island Restaurant & Bar in nearby Jupiter, and guitarist for the popular roots / rock band Boxelder.

Originally formed in 2004 in Philadelphia, PA, The Movement (pictured below) are now based in Columbia, SC. They are currently on a tour of the East Coast in support of their sixth studio album, Golden, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart. The quartet is currently promoting a new single titled “Siren”, which features a collaboration with Stick Figure vocalist and guitarist Scott Woodruff. The Movement is currently working on their seventh full-length release.

Few bands live up to the “family affair” moniker better than New Kingston. The Brooklyn progressive reggae group features father Courtney Panton, Sr. and brothers Stephen, Tahir and Courtney Jr. The Jamaican-Americans fuse reggae with R&B, hip-hop and dancehall, and are now touring in support of their latest release, A Kingston Story: Come from Far. The “Kingston Fyah” group topped Billboard Magazine’s reggae chart with their previous full-length release, 2015’s Kingston City.

Formed in St. Petersburg, FL more than a decade ago, Resinated fuse pop, soul, funk, reggae, alternative and jam together to form an amped up, sun-bleached sound. The four-piece band have toured the state extensively and ventured out of the area as well, sharing the stage with the likes of The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Stephen Marley, Erykah Badu, Talib Kweli, Ballyhoo!, and others. Their latest release Smoke Signals was independently released in 2015; they are currently working on a follow-up.
