Reggae Free Spirit Mishka Returns to Guanabanas

Reggae Free Spirit Mishka Returns to Guanabanas

JUPITER, FL – October 20, 2017 – The soulful artistry of Mishka will once again grace the Guanabanas Island Restaurant & Bar stage Saturday, November 11, 2017, beginning at 8 p.m. The show is free and open to those 21 and over. Mishka will be performing cuts from his extensive catalog and new release Roots Fidelity, which is a nod toward 70s dub / reggae, issued September 18. Guanabanas is located on the Loxahatchee River and near the Jupiter Inlet – 960 North Highway A1A, Jupiter, FL 33477.

“We’re extremely excited about having Mishka perform here again,” says Guanabanas’ Talent Buyer Matt Cahur. “He was a sell-out for us last time and we fully expect another fantastic turnout for one of modern day reggae’s most innovative voices.” Cahur is also the head of Roots Music, Inc., a Jupiter-based, 20-year music management, production and promotions company. Cahur is also the lead sound engineer at Guanabanas and guitarist for the popular Florida roots rock band Boxelder.

Born in Bermuda and raised in the Caribbean, Mishka currently calls the middle of the Pacific his home base. He first came to prominence with the 1999 release of his self-titled debut. Since then he has steadily made a name for himself through subsequent releases and non-stop international touring, culminating with the iTunes Singer Songwriter of the year award for his digital-only collection of acoustic songs called Guy with a Guitar in 2009. Mishka has topped the Billboard Magazine reggae chart three times.

The artist has shared the stage with Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, ZacBrown, Dirty Heads, Matisyahu, John Brown's Body, Burning Spear, Slightly Stoopid, Sly and Robbie, The Roots, and Donovan, among others. He recorded and produced latest effort with his cousin Alec in Maui, Hawaii, and it was mixed in the UK by the prominent engineer Prince Fatty. The 12-song set features a collaboration with the Legendary Horseman, and several tracks with backing vocals by famous UK reggae singer Earl 16.
