Celebrate Father's Day at the 6th Annual "Daddy Dash" and Family Run 5K

WELLINGTON, FL – June 8, 2018 – The Father’s Day 5k - a local race benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) will be holding its 6th annual race on Sunday, June 17th starting at 7 AM at Royal Palm Commons Park, in Royal Palm Beach, FL. Registration Fee is $35 and goes up to $40 on race day. Proceeds will be used to support LLS in its mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The event was a started in 2012 by a group of like-minded women who were fundraising and training to complete in the Rock n Roll San Diego Marathon as part of LLS’ Team in Training Program. “We we’re looking for new ways to raise money and awareness for the LLS” said Sheryl Esquilin, co-founder and current Director of the annual race. The group joined forces to form The Purple Chicks and has hosted the Father’s Day 5k now for 6 years running.

The event has become a family tradition, with a kid’s race and free diaper dash for the tots, it’s a perfect way to start off Father’s Day! This year the event moves to the Royal Palm Commons Park at 11600 Poinciana Blvd, Royal Palm Beach. The park itself covers over 163 acres, with great running trails, a 19-acre lake, a large dog park, two different playgrounds, picnic pavilions, golf and much more. A great new space for our dedicated runners. The event also includes:

  • Finishers Awards
  • Chip Timing (MCM Timing as usual)
  • T-shirts for the First 200 Registered
  • Kids Race & FREE Diaper Dash
  • Kids Activities
