Add the Gift of Joy to Your Holiday Wish List by Adopting a Family
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL— November 3, 2017 – For anyone looking to experience the true meaning of the holidays, there is no better opportunity than the “Holiday Adopter” program from Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches. The organization, known for helping families in crisis regain their self-sufficiency, has opened their annual call for gifts, inviting donors to share the magic of the season.

Through December 6, 2017, Adopt-A-Family is asking individuals, families and businesses to make a commitment to support a family. Donors can either provide a cash donation or gift cards (Visa/Amex, Target or Walmart preferred) for parents to be able to purchase gifts for their children—an experience they often don’t have—or donate items from a family’s holiday wish list. The recommended donation amount is $75-$100 per person in each family. For example, the recommended donation for a family of four would be $300-$400.

“The Holiday Adopter program is incredibly rewarding for both the donor and the family,” said Matthew Constantine, CEO of Adopt-A-Family. Without this program, many of the families Adopt-A-Family serves would otherwise not be able to celebrate the holiday season.

The Holiday Adopter program seeks donors who would like to adopt an entire family. Adopt-A-Family offers flexibility by collecting gifts at their Lake Worth location for delivery to families, or connecting donors with case workers to assist with the personal delivery of gifts.

In 2016, 140 Palm Beach County families were adopted. This year Adopt-A-Family expects to include even more families as the need is greater.

“My family is very thankful this year for the simple fact that our son got to open presents on Christmas morning. You guys put a smile so big on a 5 year old little boy’s face so wide he showed all of his missing teeth. I as his mother have not seen that joy in a longtime.” Shared a recipient family about the gifts they received.
