  • USA Today Names Loggerhead Marinelife Center Top 3 “Best Free Attractions” in the U.S.

    Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) has been named the third “Best Free Attraction” in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The winners were announced on Friday, May 19, after four weeks of online voting by the public. USA Today’s panel of travel experts and public votes selected the Center from among 20 nationwide nominees. Other nominees included some of the country’s most notable landmarks such as Central Park, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Great Smoky Mountains. read more

  • Sea Turtle Nesting Season Returns to Palm Beach County with “Respect the Locals” Campaign

    Researchers at Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) are keeping a watchful eye for the return of sea turtle nesting season in Palm Beach County and have kicked-off its “Respect the Locals” awareness campaign. Between March 1 and October 31, sea turtles nest on the 9.5-mile stretch of beach that LMC monitors, which spans from the northern Palm Beach County line to the northern boundary of John D. MacArthur Beach State Park. read more
