JUPITER, FL – March 1, 2018 – The Eco Pro Surf Series has made quite the impression in the surfing world. The series directly benefits three charity organizations with a focus on impacting the community through involvement and environmental awareness.

The first stop on the tour kicked off in October of last year in Ft. Pierce and benefited Future 6, an organization that brings physically disabled and at-risk youth from Orlando to Palm Beach into contact with activities such as surfing and skateboarding. On January 28th, the Lagoon Awareness Pro Surfing Contest was held in Stuart. This was the second stop of the surf contest series, and was held to benefit Citizens for Clean Water (C4CW), an organization that raises awareness about clean water in our rivers and lagoons. Last but not least, on February 25th, the surf series hosted their final stop at the Jupiter Civic Center, benefitting Share the Stoke Foundation, whose mission is to get kids off the streets by introducing them to surfing, as well as a healthy and more beneficial lifestyle.

As if contributing to three local charities wasn’t enough, this series also boasts some of the biggest names in surfing, both local and professional. This includes Daniel Glenn, Tommy Coleman, and Giorgio Gomez. Jupiter local boy Jensen Callaway is holding a top spot as well, accompanied by Palm Beach County resident Chase Modelski, who is the point leader for the Junior Pro division. The U12 Boys Division is topped by Sterling Makish, followed by Kepa Mendia of Palm Beach County. Kepa is the 11-year-old son of Billabong team rider Pete Mendia, and has quickly proven he can fill Dad’s shoes when it comes to riding waves. The Women’s Division is dominated by talent, with Rachel Presti leading the way, followed by pros like Madeline Zueli, Avery Adollette, and Coral Schuster.

The series has been successfully run by Competition and Event Director Jim Tolliver, Event Coordinator Donny Ottofaro of Future 6, Kelly Kingston of Share the Stoke Foundation, and Evan Miller of C4CW. Fellow contributors include Contest Directors Skye Robinson and Randy Nolan, as well as Head Judges Chip Hall and Mike Bloom.
