Park hours are from sunrise to sunset; however, the lighted court facilities remain open until 9:00 PM; the lighted athletic fields (permit required) remain open until 10:00 PM; and the boat ramps remain open until 11:00 PM.

Blowing Rocks Preserve

This Barrier Island Sanctuary is located on Jupiter Island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon at 574 S. Beach Road, Hobe Sound, FL, 33455. The 73-acre beach preserve is open daily from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, with the exception of major holidays. Park amenities include: A lagoon with seagrass, urchin, blue claw crabs, and endangered Florida Manatees. Species of sea turtles nesting on the northern beach include loggerheads, leatherbacks, and greens. The on-site Hawley Education Center provides information about the ongoing conservation efforts, as well as the plants and animals to be found in the preserve.

Park hours are from sunrise to sunset; however, the boat ramps are accessible 24 hours. Boat Trailer Parking Permit Required ($10 daily permit available on site). After hours parking is permitted. Boat trailer and tow vehicle parking is permitted overnight (24-hour period only). Boaters requiring more extended stay periods must utilize an alternate parking location.

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary at Loxahatchee River District

Located at 2500 Jupiter Park Drive, Jupiter, FL 33458, sanctuary hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 AM until 4:30 PM. The sanctuary offers the opportunity to learn about Florida wildlife in an unique setting, combining a nature center with a wildlife hospital. Nature trails lead through pine flatwoods, oak hammocks, and cypress wetlands – these habitats include eagles, panthers, crocodiles, foxes, snakes, bears, and more. Delaware Scrub Natural Area

The main entrance to this 16-acre preserve is located on the north side of Indiantown Road between Jones Creek and North Delaware Blvd at 47 N. Delaware Road. This park contains mesic flatwoods, scrubby flatwoods, wet flatlands, dome swamp, mangrove swamp, and a salt marsh, as well as one of the only cypress swamps in Northeastern Palm Beach County. A boardwalk winds through the trees to the tidal swamp at Jones Creek – a tributary of the Loxahatchee.

Effective March 1, 2014, alcohol possession or consumption is NOT permitted. This includes the Roy Schallern Rood rental pavilion and general picnic areas.

The main entrance to this 18.69-acre beach park is located at  19075 DuBois Road in Jupiter, FL 33477. Park hours are from sunrise to sunset. There is a lifeguard posted at the swimming area  from 9 AM-5:20 PM, seven days a week from Memorial Day until Palm Beach County Schools begin in August. When school is in session, swimming areas are guarded only on weekends.

Park amenities include: 1,200 feet of Intracoastal beachfront (guarded only in snorkling area); 100 feet of guarded lagoon beachfront; beach wheelchair available when lifeguard on duty; NOTE: Saltwater fishing and surfing are NOT permitted in guarded swimming areas; 17 day-use-only boat slips; 1 boat ramp for non-motorized boats only; canoeing/kayaking access; jetty; 1 picnic pavilion (reservations required); picnic areas with grills and single table; playground with play equipment for ages 5-12; outdoor showers; restroom facilities; Indian mound historical/archaeological site; DuBois Pioneer Home -National Register of Historic Places; parking; pets permitted.

Historic Jupiter-Indiantown Trail

This 16.5-mile trail is located between Riverbend Park in Jupiter and the St. Lucie Canal in Indiantown. Trail hours are daily from sunrise to sunset.

The historic Jupiter-Indiantown Trail connects the 680-acre Riverbend Park, 2,083-acre Cypress Creek Natural Area, and Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental Area, a 16,645-acre area that hosts some of the highest quality, relatively undisturbed pine flatwoods remaining in south Florida. The trail is being built in phases along an old road used from the turn of the century to the late 1950s for travel between Jupiter in Palm Beach County and Indiantown in Martin County.

Park amenities include: A trailhead with off-street parking at Indiantown Road; chickee shade shelter; information board; and equestrian pitcher well pump. The 2-mile-long segment through Cypress Creek Natural area includes an elevated, fully accessible trail surface composed of crushed rock; way-finding signage; shade shelters; and bike racks; horse hitches; and mounting blocks at access points to hiking trails and wildlife observation platforms. NOTE: The trail surface through Cypress Creek Natural Area may not be suitable for thin-tired bicycles or unshod horses. The 5 mile tract currently open through Jones-Hungryland WEA features a trailhead with off-street parking, and information kiosks at CR 711 at Gates 3 and 4 and at Old Indiantown Road at Gate 9. This section of trail has a surface that is mostly elevated packed dirt and grass. Some areas have exposed roots, loose gravel, or are subject to seasonal flooding.

This 11,500-acre park is located at 16450 S.E. Federal Highway in Hobe Sound, FL 33455.

The park is open from 8 AM to sundown, 365 days a year.

Admission Fee: $6.00 per vehicle. Limit 2-8 people per vehicle. $4.00 Single-occupant vehicle or motorcycle. $2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.

Boat ramp fee: The boat ramp fee is $4.00 + tax.  This is in addition to the Admission Fee.

Camping Fee: $26.00 per night, plus tax, plus a non-refundable $6.70 reservation fee. Includes water and electricity. NOTE: Florida residents who are 65 years of age or older or who hold a social security disability award certificate or a 100% disability award certificate from the Federal Government are permitted to receive a 50% discount on current base campsite fees. Proof of eligibility is required.

Cabin Rental Fee: In-season (November 1 - April 30) - $95.00 per night, plus tax, plus a non-refundable $6.70 reservation fee. Off-season (May 1 - October 31) - $85.00 per night, plus tax, plus a non-refundable $6.70 reservation fee.

The entrance to this 2-mile-long wetlands trail is located off Pratt-Whitney Road, 1.5 miles north of SR 706. This is a Northeast Everglades Natural Area (NENA). The best months for hiking are January through May. NOTE: Hunting with a permit is ALLOWED during hunting season at this site.

Jupiter High School Track

The Jupiter High School track is open to the public on the following days/times:

  • Sunday from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM

These are the ONLY days and times that the track is available to the public.

Public parking is available in the Daniel’s Way parking lot. NOTE: All cars must be out of the lot by 7 AM on weekdays for student parking.

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area

This 120-acre park is located at the northeast corner of U.S. Highway 1 and Beach Road (County Road 707) in the Village of Tequesta, FL. The entrance is on the north side of Beach Road, 1/4 mile east of U.S. Highway 1.

The park hours are from sunrise to sunset.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area (JILONA) is a 120-acre site that contains lands owned by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM); the U.S. Coast Guard; and the Town of Jupiter. Palm Beach County manages 78 acres of the natural area under a cooperative agreement with BLM, with the assistance of the Village of Tequesta. The managed area contains Florida scrub, maritime hammock, and mangrove swamp natural communities. Volunteers planted over 6,000 mangrove seedlings as part of a two-acre tidal wetland restoration project on the north side of Beach Road. The entire 120-acre site has received federal designation as an outstanding natural area through BLM's National Landscape Conservation Area Program. The part of the site on the south side of Beach Road lies within the Town of Jupiter and contains the historic 1860 Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum, the George Washington Tindall Pioneer House and the Town of Jupiter Lighthouse Park. The Loxahatchee River Historical Society provides scheduled guided tours of the lighthouse. The natural area is part of the Northeast Everglades Natural Area. Park amenities include: a parking area for 7 cars and 1 bus; a bicycle rack; 2 kiosks with educational exhibits; an accessible nature trail leading to a boardwalk ending at a covered observation platform; and natural-surface hiking trails. Hiking, photography, wildlife viewing, and other passive recreation activities are allowed on the site. There are no restroom facilities or drinking water in the natural area.

Jupiter Ridge Natural Area

This 270-acre park is located at 1800 South U.S. Highway 1, Jupiter, FL 33477 (not a mailing address). The entrance is located on the west side of U.S. Highway 1, one mile south of Indiantown Road. Visitors also may access the site by beaching a small boat on a sandy area known as Ski Beach along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway.

The park hours are from sunrise to sunset.

The natural area contains five native Florida ecosystems: scrub, scrubby flatwoods, mesic flatwoods, depression marsh, and mangrove swamp. The natural area is part of the Northeast Everglades Natural Area (NENA).

Park amenities include: A parking area for 10 cars and 2 buses; a bicycle rack; an accessible portable toilet; kiosk with educational exhibits, an accessible nature trail leading to a covered observation platform, and natural-surface hiking trails. Part of the Jupiter Riverwalk, a multi-use concrete pathway, is adjacent to the eastern boundary of the site. The Riverwalk runs west from A1A to the natural area and is planned to extend north to the Jupiter Inlet. There is no drinking water available on the natural area.

Jupiter Stepping Stone Artificial Reef

Located approximately 1 mile northeast of the Jupiter Inlet the Reef’s coordinates are:

The reef provides habitat for hundreds of species of fish, crustaceans, and other marine organisms. It creates additional areas for snorkeling, diving, and fishing, reducing pressures on natural reef systems. Because of the depth of the reef, it is a great site for introductory dive classes taking their first open water dives.

Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area

The main entrance to this 12,841-acre preserve is located in Riverbend Park in Jupiter. Park hours are from sunrise to sunset. The park includes nine native ecosystems: mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, mesic hammock, hydric hammock, wet prairie, depression marsh, slough marsh, strand swamp, and dome swamp. Two multi-use trails, Bluegill and Pantano, provide dry access around the site perimeter.
